Jasper Dorsey collection, 1956-1982.

The collection consists of correspondence, business papers and printed material concerning the University of Georgia, Southern Bell, Georgia Press Institute, Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation, Blue Key, National Press Club, and misc. state and local organizations. Included in the collection is a scrapbook (c. 1860s-1910), personal correspondence, and clippings.

Jasper Newton Dorsey was born in Marietta, Georgia on January 19, 1913. He attended the University of Georgia School of Journalism and received his degree in 1936. In 1937 he joined the Southern Bell Telephone Company, thus beginning his long business career with that utility.
